“Ms. Cathi” – blessed, loving, and thankful woman of God.
Ms. Cathi is the wife of a great man who God has placed in her life- Elder George. She is a proud mother of three beautiful daughters –Shalonda,Shawnine, Shanika, and she is a grandmother (Mimi) of Six blessed grandchildren. She is a strong, God-fearing woman who loves being around her family. She gives thanks to the Lord for her biological, and her church family, in which He has placed into her life. Ms. Cathi has always expressed her love for teaching. As City of Joy’s Children’s Director, she firmly believes that being a teacher of the Word of God is the greatest gift that the Lord has blessed her with. Through her ministry, children are taught to be respectful, obedient, and to show the love of Christ in all circumstances. She is a woman who passionately loves God and admires all children, especially those eager to receive the knowledge of Christ. Catherine also shares a love for praise and worship, as she is an active member on the church’s worship team. Her goal is to inspire teachers everywhere into the ministry of helping children, especially in the city of New Bedford, to grow with the wisdom and knowledge in the Word of God
Minister Gina Hawthorne
Choir Director/Media Team
Minister Gina is the choir director and part of the media team which helps to broadcast any content of City of Joy Church to social media and the internet. She ministers to the people through song. She is the wife of Everton and the mother to Lydell. She has been a member of City of Joy Church for 8 years. She is a worshiper of God and a hard worker. Minister Gina works as a Medical Technologist which she has been doing for 21 years. She a Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science and also holds a Masters Degree in Business with a minor in Healthcare Administration.
Her favorite scripture is “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” Matthew 6:33 NIV.
