PSALM 30

I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.
Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.”
LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.
To you, LORD, I called; to theLord I cried for mercy:
“What is gained ifIamsilenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help.”
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.

The church hosts powerful Sunday services, offers a Bible Study class once a week, and holds a prayer line on Saturday evenings – all which is open to the public. In serving one another, City of Joy extends its doors open once a month to all who are interested in attending our Women’s or Men’s Ministry meetings. We also offer Junior (ages 10-13), and Senior (ages 14-18), Youth Groups to the children in our community and surrounding areas. City of Joy hosts numerous events, including the church’s annual Summer Cookout - which also entails baptisms. We host weddings, and also fundraise soup/bake sales. The church takes pride in their Missions Group, where they gain the chance to serve others in undeveloped countries.

Our vision is to reach out by showing the love of God and the release of His power. If you are a follower of Christ, and you want to further explore the depth of your spirituality, you can always find a home here with us at City of Joy Church!

We want to bring God’s Word to people of all ages and of all social-economic backgrounds, within the city of New Bedford, as well as across the world. City of Joy believes that the church is the community. As a church, we do not exist for ourselves alone; we exist to serve God, serve one another, and serving the community- as well as in other countries. We build our relationship with God as individuals and join together in honoring Him.

City of Joy is a non-denominational, multi-cultural church striving to teach relatable knowledge of God’s Word. We incorporate heart-felt worship, build righteous friendships, and provide compassionate support to those in need. The church is compelled to give hope to the hopeless and joy to those who mourn.

This inspiration comes from Psalms 30:5, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
